Since I had skin cancer in the 3rd grade and since I have an allergy to the sun... I was banned from the tanning bed since before I knew what a tanning bed was!!! Icon_sad Well I am losing weight and feeling better about myself so now I also want a damn tan, and that is impossible with me (along with the above, if I am in the sun I do nothing but burn, peel, burn, peel..

So... Has anyone gone to a professional spray tan salon or anything.. Did it turn you orange? How was it? I just dont want to waste $25 but I want a tan so I dont blind people when I have on a skirt or capris....

Thanks everyone!!!!
Alabaster skin is a precious commodity. It is the standard of femininity in most books, and a common sign of prestige and beauty. People used to bleach their skin to achieve it (some still do, go Michael!) and way back when, the whiter a woman, the higher she was likely to marry. A complexion unblemished by the sun was, and still is, something that people envied, especially if there was no scarring or discoloration. You, although the reasoning is beyond your control, have that.

However, you want to ruin it, I say try the paint isle. If ya gonna spray paint yourself, make it last.

There are several fake tans that have no harmful effects for your skin, and most brands now day, if applied properly, don't leave streaks or turn you orange. Rather than a spray, you may want one you rub on though, so you can control the level of coverage, and if one area turns out lighter or darker, you can adjust it.
I am using Jergens Natural Glow right now.. It is giving me some color.. I just hate being so pale, I get red so easily that I want something to hide a bit of it... I am thankful that I wont have leathery skin that most people who tan excessively have (like my sister) but at the same time a little color would be nice....
Being a redhead I know exactly what you mean. I don't tan, I just burn and peel and freckle. That is it. My bf keeps telling me that one of these days maybe the freckles will blend together and I will then have a tan. I didn't think that was too funny.

I have also tried the Natural Glow and it does help some. Last year I tried the foam stuff that you rub in and it looked ok from afar, but when you got up close you could tell it didn't blend in too well.

I feel your pain Unique!

I've told Renee the same thing.

After spending four hours in the yard my skin feels like it is on fire.... I itch all over and it will take about a week to go away.. I wish I didnt like being outside so much.. Its a curse, but a great one!!!!
