Icon_rolleyes  Laundrymat on Broadway...

RANT...

I very rarely go to the laundrymat anymore but I had a buttload of blankets to wash. Anyway, the bitc...er new owner is very unpleasant to deal with. I dealt with her one other time way back when she bought the place but I let it go thinking it was all still new to her.

I took in 5-6 blankets and two brand new pillows. I had three of the big machines and when I went to put it all in the dryers, I noticed one of the pillows had this nasty brownish mark on it. It wasn't a big deal but they were new. I went up to the one woman (Patty) that works there and she said, "Sandy (the owner) will be in in a minute, maybe she can help figure out what happened."

The owner then comes in and she tells her about the pillow. I asked if it had ever happened before (again...it really wasn't a BIG deal) and she said, "No." I said, "They're brand new too." And she says, "Yeah. They always are." EXCUSE ME?! Ok...NOW it's a big deal! I said, "No. They ARE brand new." She says, "I know."

The other woman then sprays Spray and Wash on it and says she'll let it soak over night and for me to pick it up tomorrow. Ok...not a problem. At least it's SOMETHING. As I'm waiting for the rest of the crap to dry, I leaned back thinking I was up against one of the washers...nope. I almost fell backwards on the table because it moved. The owner just looks at me like I'm an idiot and the other woman tells another customer "Bye Dale" as she's looking at me.

By now I'm beyond irritated and just wait for everything to dry so I can get out of there. I fold everything up and take it out to the car. I go back in and ask the owner for my pillow. She says, "You sure?" I said, "Yeah. I won't be coming back." She says, "Ok."

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah...it's just a pillow but it's also called BUSINESS ETHICS! So now I'm waiting to see if I got it clean by cramming it in my washer at home.

/END RANT

RE: Laundymat on Broadway...

Oh and as Patty is spraying Spray and Wash on the pillow, she then asks (now this is while she's spraying it on), "This won't stain the pillow will it?" Ummmm number 1...it's Spray and wash. It's made to GET STAINS OUT. Number 2...WTF are you asking AFTER you sprayed it on?! Whyme

OMG- Sounds like you were being tested for your patience that day. It would have pissed me off too if someone talked to me like that and acted as though I was lieing.

So the question remains.... Did the stain come out? LOL!

If I had known then what I know now I would have listened more and talked less. ~AAB~

Not completely but most of it is gone. I'll just go to the one on Jefferson or in Frontenac the next time I have to go.

RE: Laundrymat on Broadway...

I use the Tide To Go pens. Even if a stain has been set in by the dryer, I'll use that and so far(knocking on wood as I type this) it takes the stain out completely. It's safe to use on colors also. The best thing that could have been invented.
One of my granddaughters got some chocolate on her easter dress while over here for Easter Sun. Her parents got upset. I got the pen and a few minutes later the chocolate was out. They were amazed how well it worked. Now I keep they supplied with it also.

Life should Not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOOHOO what a ride!"
