working on holidays...

I was supposed to be off on christmas eve, but there is only one other girl at work that knows how to do my job and she refuses to work it for me. Even though I help her out 3 days a week by staying late so she can be an hour late every day so she can take her kids to school. Alot of people has kids and they make it to work on time. I decided to be the bigger person and tell the boss I would work on xmas eve and xmas night. Yay for me. I did decide though, that I want to take new years eve night off. I think that if I work all the other holidays, I atleast deserve that.

Is anyone else working the holidays?

RE: working on holidays...

Thanksgiving here, and New Year's Eve. Eve by choice, time and a half. Thanksgiving.. not so by choice, but I don't want to go to Lonnie's family's anyways. My sis was suppose to host our Thanksgiving this year, but Mom and her have been fighting, so Kayla is going to Arkansas. Is it mean to hope she gets lost on the way back? I don't work other holidays except Halloween. Dec 19th to Jan 2nd, every one has off, pretty much. 31st they send a team in to go clean the mess hall, and I have signed up for that.

You suck.

RE: working on holidays...

I don't even know if I get holiday pay for nye or x-mas eve since we just got new owners. He is more worried about getting more business than taking care of his employees. Which I can kind of understand.

I did tell her this morning that I was taking New Years Eve off and she didn't even try to argue with me, so that is good.
